Inin Jema

In the heart of the Amazon rainforest, a family center dedicated to Shipibo medicine, guardian of tradition.

The center

The setting
A secluded location, designed for retreat and deep healing work.
The center has running water, solar-powered electricity, and high-speed internet access, ensuring a balance between immersion and logistical security. Support is available in French, English, Russian, and Spanish.
Participants stay in simple, comfortable single rooms.
Meals follow the principles of the Shipibo diet, adapted to the plants used and the therapeutic setting of the stay (suitable for vegetarians and vegans).

Diet, care, and support are provided in a simple and protected environment that is conducive to rebalancing, inner clarity, and spiritual growth. The center welcomes those who wish not only to heal and grow, but also to deepen their understanding of Shipibo medicine.

The
Inin Jema vision is part of a living practice of Amazonian medicinal plants and ayahuasca ceremonies, always integrated into a broader healing process. Beyond healing, keys are shared to illuminate the process, understand the role of plants, and integrate what is transforming.

Our History

Une tradition vivante de médecine Shipibo

Inin Jema was born from the encounter between a lineage of Shipibo healers and a perspective shaped by Western medicine. We remain faithful to tradition, as the living practice that it is, passed down from generation to generation through diet, experience, and daily care.
The center was first led by maestro Guillermo Arevalo Valera, a renowned figure in Shipibo medicine. Today, it is run by his eldest daughter, Hilda Arevalo, a Shipibo maestra and healer. Her work is distinguished by its precision and her mastery of perfumes and floral baths, a subtle dimension of this medicine.
Inin Jema means “the Community of Perfumes.” In the Shipibo tradition, perfumes bring people together and harmonize them. The name conveys the idea of a place where care is experienced collectively, in a center on a human scale, conducive to attentive and respectful work.
We welcome people who have come to seek healing, go through a life transition, or deepen their understanding of Shipibo medicine. Our intention is to offer a clear, safe environment that is faithful to the living tradition, in order to allow for deep healing work and lasting personal growth.
